Do you – or your loved one – have a special place in your heart for the Gardens? Then sponsor a Squarea!
Join our Squarea Campaign and help raise funds towards the upkeep of Rivington Terraced Gardens.
The Gardens are spread over 20 hectares (200,000m2) and you can support us by sponsoring your own Squarea in the Gardens – a 10 square metre virtual patch – for just £20.
This sponsorship donation will help towards maintenance for the next 5 years.
Whether in the Italian Lake area, the Japanese Gardens, the Dell, the Lawns, or the Woodlands – whichever is your favourite area – you can sponsor a Squarea.
If you have several favourites maybe sponsor more than one area!
- Available to individuals, families or businesses
- Just for yourself or as a gift for friends or family members
- You will receive an individual signed and numbered certificate (emailed pdf for you to print at home)
- Your name will appear on a Roll Call of Squarea sponsors on our website if you wish
- You can sponsor as many Squareas as you wish – either in the same area or in one of the other four areas of the Gardens
- 100% of your sponsorship monies will go towards the upkeep of the Gardens
The Japanese Garden
Stroll through this area – no longer pagodas or tea parties but still a magical place
The Dell

The Lawns
Amble through these open spaces imagining the past crowds and the orchestras that used to perform here
The Woodlands
Wander through this 100 year old wood listening to the wind in the trees and enjoying the wildlife
The Italian Lake
Enjoy this area of tranquillity where Lord Leverhulme used to take his morning dip

Any enquiries about our Squarea Campaign should be emailed to: [email protected]
Due to the current Covid situation and to minimise our environmental footprint the certificate will be an e-certificate for you to print yourselves. We will review this in the future depending on feedback. Please note that each Squarea is a virtual patch and that you do not have any ownership or other rights over the patch.
